The Milan-San Remoone of the most important and prestigious classics on the cycling calendar each season, puts into play this Saturday, March 18its 114th edition, corresponding to 2023. The race, also known as “La Classicisima”due to its enormous tradition and the honor that winning it entails for the rider who achieves it, is of the UCI WorldTour category, the highest in world cycling, and thus has the participation of 18 UCI WorldTeam teams, for a total of 25 squads on the starting line of Milan.

The list of participants includes runners as prominent as Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Wout van Aert (Jumbo -Visma), Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Pello Bilbao (Bahrain – Victorious), Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal Quick-Step), Fernando Gaviria (Movistar) or Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck). The presence of Oier Lazkano and Alex Aranburu (both from Movistar).

As every year, sprinters and classicists are going to wage an interesting fight in Milan-San Remo, over a long journey, of 294 kilometerswhich is marked by the presence, at kilometer 144, of the Turchinofrom where the race will descend towards the Ligurian Riviera, in search of the small walls that precede the two decisive heights: the Cypress (at kilometer 272, with 5.6 kilometers at 4.1%), where the first filter will be made, and then at the Poggio (at kilometer 287, 3.7km at 3.7%), where the runners will have their last chance for the decisive moves for the win before reaching Via Roma in Sanremo.
