Roque Pinargote, Daniel Agüero and David Agüero were proclaimed champions of the VII stage of the Ecuajunior 2022 Circuit that took place from April 1 to 3 on the courts of the Miraflores Complex.
In this stage, 80 of the best players from 29 academies from Guayaquil, Machala, Manta, Portoviejo, Jipijapa, Salinas, Samborondón, Babahoyo, Esmeraldas, Ambato, Santo Domingo and Milagro participated.
In the unified 11-year-old final, Roque Pinargote defeated Rafael Peña in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. In 13 unified years, Daniel Agüero defeated Nicolás Chávez 6-1, 6-0. In 14+ unified the champion was David Agüero, after defeating Andrés Miño by a double 6-4.
“Leadership and innovation brings with it some risks, imitations don’t know the reality of why those changes were implemented. Doing them haphazardly harms the organized development that has been carried out for 16 years in conjunction with the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation”, said Jonhny Saldivias, director of the competition.
He stressed that “they have proposed to us a hundred times that we do La Academia Ecuajunior for years and the reason for not doing it is our professional ethics since this brings conflict of interest. According to the structure of the ITF there are departments that must be clearly separated and not do the same activities at the same time”.
Throughout all this time, the Ecuajunior Circuit has been the recruiter of players, trainer of parents in this discipline, and when they compete in the tournaments endorsed by the FET they arrive knowing the rules, they have good behavior since they know what the process is like.
In this stage, eight scholarships were awarded for children from the Junior Tennis Initiative Ecuador program organized by the International Tennis Federation through the FET. (D)
