They grant an extension for 3 months for the annual declaration and the payment of taxes

The head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Alex Contreras, reminded businessmen who are in areas declared in emergency that they will automatically benefit fromon the extension and postponement for three months of the annual declaration and payment of taxes, after finishing the session of the Council of Ministers. He also specified that technical teams are being sent to the regions affected by the climatic phenomena to help them use the resources they have to attend to the emergency.

“I want to remind all the companies that are operating in areas declared in emergency that the superintendency resolution automatically already exists that extends and postpones the declaration and payment of taxes for three months, so that they have enough space for them to recover and meet the urgent needs demanded by this emergency“Contreras explained.

On the other hand, he explained that his portfolio is allocating resources to strengthen the operational capacity of the State so that the Ministry of Defense operates 100% with the helicopters that are necessary. Regarding the provision of resources, only regional governments have S/4,339 million available to deal with the emergency, he specified.

“What we are doing as MEF (…) is sending different technical teams to support the municipalities to use the resources. We have verified and absolutely 100% of the municipalities that are under an emergency situation have resources available. For this reason, at the moment there are teams in Piura, in Tumbes. The idea is that we visit Lambayeque, Huaraz between today and tomorrow, to be able to support them in using their budget,” he concluded.
