Dmitry Nosov said that foreigners will come to tournaments in Russia with big prizes
Bronze medalist of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in judo Dmitry Nosov found a way to attract foreigners to tournaments in Russia. His words are quoted by Match TV.
“If our oligarchs, instead of buying yachts, make tournaments with prizes of a million, five million dollars for the first place, there will be a queue for us, athletes will not care about these sanctions,” the athlete said. Nosov drew attention to the fact that he was holding a tournament with a big prize of 80 thousand dollars, to which all the invitees came.
Nosov won bronze at the Athens Olympics in judo in the category up to 81 kilograms. He also has a bronze medal at the European Championship in the same category.
At the end of February, many international sports organizations stopped allowing Russians to compete on the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Also, most of the competitions that were supposed to be held in Russia were transferred to other countries.
