Olimpia fans from Ljubljana kicked head coach Albert Riera out of a press conference
Olimpia fans from Ljubljana kicked out the team’s new head coach, Albert Riera, from a press conference. The video appeared on the Sisu Gabriel YouTube channel.
Slovenian fans stormed the event protesting the appointment of a specialist. Riera himself, in a comment to Marca, said that the fans spoke with raised voices with club president Milan Mandarich. The coach stressed that he did not intend to participate in the skirmish and left the press conference.
In May 2009, Riera married Russian Yulia Koroleva. The couple is raising three children.
For Riera, this is the first experience of working as a head coach. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach of the Turkish Galatasaray for two years. As a football player, the Spaniard played for Mallorca, Bordeaux, Manchester City, Liverpool, Watford, Olympiacos and Galatasaray.
