Milan announced the signing of Belgian Divock Origi, ex-Liverpool, this Tuesday. The striker has signed with the Italian club until June 2026.

Last month, the team led by Jurgen Klopp had already officially announced the player’s departure, after the coach had advanced the information.

“I hope Div has a great reception, or goodbye, whatever. For me, he is and will forever be a Liverpool legend and one of the most important players I’ve ever had,” Klopp told a news conference in May.

Bought from Lille at the start of the 2014/15 season by Liverpool, he was soon loaned back to the French club. Already after his debut for the Reds, in 2015, he started to gain space in the team. In total, he played 175 games, scoring 41 goals and 18 assists.

Origi never established himself as an undisputed starter in the team, but he came off the bench on many occasions and, with decisive goals, became a kind of “talisman”.

The Belgian had a prominent role in the 2018/19 Champions League title. He scored two goals in the 4-0 semi-final defeat of Barcelona. In the final, against Tottenham, he scored a goal in the 2-0 triumph, which secured the trophy.
