Mexico’s national soccer team will play its first friendly under Argentine coach Diego Cocca against the United States in Glendale, Arizona, in April.
“The Mexican national team will face the United States in a duel scheduled for Wednesday, April 19, at State Farm Stadium,” the Mexican Football Federation said in a statement.

The FMF highlighted that the game “will be the first Concacaf derby for Diego Cocca, who has been in charge of the Mexican national team since February 10”.
According to FMF counts, this will be the 76th duel between the main men’s national teams of Mexico and the United States. In retrospect of the last 75 games, the Mexicans have 37 wins, 16 draws and 22 defeats.
Before the friendly against the United States, the Mexican national team will play two official matches in March, corresponding to the Concacaf League of Nations.
Mexico will visit Suriname on Thursday, March 23 at the Doctor Ir stadium. Franklin Essed, in Paramaribo, and on Sunday, March 26, he will host Jamaica at Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City.
