Former UFC fighter Alistair Overeem caught doping again

Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and kickboxer Alistair Overeem has been caught doping again. A statement from the Glory Kickboxing promotion, in which the athlete is currently performing, was published by MMA Junkie.

“Overeem has been removed from the Glory ratings. His suspension is for 12 months, starting from the last fight, ”the statement said. It is specified that his victory over the Moroccan Badr Hari in October 2022 was declared invalid. The Dutchman will have to return a percentage of the fee earned for the fight. What substance was found in the fighter’s sample is not reported.

In 2012, before a title fight with UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, Overeem tested positive for testosterone. The athlete was disqualified for nine months.

In his last fight under the auspices of the UFC, Overeem lost by knockout to Russian Alexander Volkov. In total, in his professional career, the Dutchman won 47 victories and suffered 19 defeats. Another fight with his participation was declared invalid.
