Ancelotti says that Vini Jr. is “on the way” to make history at Real Madrid

The technician of Real Madridthe Italian Carlo Ancelotti, considered this Tuesday that the Brazilian striker Vinícius Júnior is “on the way” to make history at the club, on the eve of the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League against Liverpool.

“Vinicius is well on the way to writing Real Madrid’s history for years to come,” said Ancelotti in an interview prior to the clash with the English side.

For the coach, the young Brazilian can leave his mark as they did and are doing “Modric, Kroos, Karim, Casemiro… This whole group was fantastic, especially in the Champions League”.

Ancelotti also highlighted Vini’s change in attitude on the field, more focused on his game than on the opponents’ provocations.

“I’m happy with his progress. I don’t look at that too much. In the last game (against Espanyol) he was exemplary in his attitude, focusing on what he has to do on the pitch,” said the Italian.

For the German defender Antonio Rüdiger, Vini “has to concentrate on his way of playing, because when he does that, he is one of the best, but it is difficult with so many strokes”.

“He’s still young and going through a learning process, but the referees also have to do a better job with him, they have to treat him like everyone else,” Rüdiger told a news conference.

Real Madrid’s top scorer in the Champions League, Vinícius Júnior will be one of the great offensive assets against Liverpool along with the return of Benzema, recovered from a knock on his ankle.

The merengue team plays the return at home after winning by 5 to 2 the first game in England, but Ancelotti does not want the players relaxed due to the good advantage.

“The message is simple: do not make calculations, play the best we can, plan the game as we did in the first leg. We will try to enter the game from the first minute, playing with maximum intensity, and we will try to win”, said the coach.

“It will be an open game. Liverpool will try to change the dynamics of the tie, so we will have to do things well, defend and attack, but we think about attacking”, he concluded.
