Hazard wants to stay at Real Madrid and rules out transfer to another club

Striker Eden Hazard wants to stay in Real Madrid next season. Despite practically not playing for the Spanish team, in an interview given this Monday to Belgian television RTBF, he assured that he would not consider a transfer next summer.

“I would like to stay. I’ve always dreamed of this club. I only hope for one thing: to be on the field to show that I can still play football, even if people doubt it, which is normal,” admitted the former Lille and Chelsea player.

Hazard, 32, arrived in the Spanish capital from London in 2019 after Real Madrid paid BRL 650 million to the Chelsea. But since he landed in Madrid, he has barely been able to show his talent due to his constant physical problems. His last game for Spanish Championship It was on the 9th of September last year.

“There is one thing that can pull me out of the spiral I’m in and that’s playing. After months without playing, I know I won’t score five goals in the first game. I need time, but at Real Madrid there is no time,” declared Hazard, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

Hazard, who announced his departure from the Belgian national team in December after the World Cup in Qatar, acknowledged that he doubted “the confidence of Carlo Ancelotti”, his manager at Real Madrid.

“We don’t talk to the coach, but we respect each other. I see in training that I can contribute things. I feel good physically. But there are other players who play regularly”, he confessed.

“I’m not asking to play 90 minutes, I just feel useful”, insisted Hazard who, however, acknowledged a certain negligence: “Last season this situation affected me more. Now less”.

“Some [companheiros] tell me to leave [para jogar] because they see my quality, but it is not my option. I am convinced that I can still contribute something to Real Madrid”, he concluded.
