The Prosecutor’s Office requests that Ernesto Valverde testify as a witness in the Negreira case
The prosecution has requested that Athletic’s coach, Ernesto Valverde, ex-coach of FC Barcelona between 2017 and 2020, testify as a witness in it Negreira caseso that confirm or deny if there were reports about the profile of the collegiate which was presumably prepared for FC Barcelona by the vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees, José María Enríquez Negreira. The prosecutor wants Luis Enrique Martínez, coach of the Catalan team between 2014 and 2017, to be summoned to testify.
Ernesto valverde already declared a few days ago, at a press conference, that he is not aware of said reports nor did he access them as coach of FC Barcelona. Luis Enrique, on the other hand, has not yet ruled on the case.
