In the Czech Republic opposed the admission of Russian fencers to international tournaments
The Czech Fencing Association (CSS) opposed the admission of the national teams of Russia and Belarus to international tournaments. It is reported by Novinky.
“We will be consulting on the next steps of our federation with the National Sports Agency, the Czech Olympic Committee and other government organizations,” said CSS head Aldrich Kubista. He noted that at the congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), the Czech Republic voted against the return of Russians and Belarusians to the competition.
On March 10, Inside the Games reported that the FIE had decided to re-admit Russian and Belarusian athletes to tournaments. The return of athletes to the competitions will take place no earlier than mid-April 2023.
On March 2, 2022, the FIE temporarily suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in starts under the auspices of the organization.
