British boxer Joshua Buatsi pulls out of fight with Dimitri Bivol for one million pounds
Promoter Eddie Hearn has announced that British boxer Joshua Buatsi has pulled out of a fight with Russian Dmitry Bivol. His words are quoted by Boxing News 24.
“We offered him over a million pounds to fight Dmitry Bivol, but he said no. It’s disappointing,” Hearn said. He added that the opportunity to fight Bivol and Anthony Joshua is also being considered, but the Briton wants to fight compatriot Dan Aziz.
On January 13, the American magazine The Ring recognized Bivol as the 2022 boxer of the year. The 32-year-old athlete became the second Russian in history after Sergey Kovalev to receive this award.
On the night of November 6, 2022, Bivol defeated Mexican Gilberto Ramirez by unanimous decision at a boxing evening in Abu Dhabi and defended his World Boxing Association (WBA) world title. In total, he has 21 wins and no losses.
