In one of the greatest European classics, Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund met this afternoon, at the Veltins-Arena, and drew 2-2, in an electrifying game valid for the 24th round of the German Championship.
Dortmund, eliminated midweek in the Champions League, was ahead of the scoreboard twice, but the hosts sought the scoreboard. The goals were scored, in sequence, by Schlotterbeck, Bulter, Guerreiro and Karaman.
With the result, Dortmund lost the chance to draw on points with Bayern Munich, who, earlier, beat Augsburg 5-3. Edin Terzić’s charges are in second place with 50 points.
Schalke, in a difficult situation in the Bundesliga, remained in 17th place, in the relegation zone, with just 20 points.
Borussia Dortmund’s next game will be on Saturday, at 2:30 pm (Brasília time), against Cologne, at home, while Schalke will visit Augsburg on the same day, but a little earlier, at 11:30 am (Brasília time).

The game
Just after five minutes, Julian Ryerson finished with danger from the middle of the area, but nothing rocked the net. Then it was the turn of Gittens, blocked, and Haller, both without success.
The answer only came in the 18th minute, when Michael Frey risked a shot. However, it was Raphael Guerreiro who forced a great save from Fahrmann. The goalkeeper appeared again in Wolf’s attack, but could not stop Schlotterbeck.
In the 37th minute, the top scorer received Guerreiro, cleared and kicked hard to secure the 1-0 on the scoreboard. That’s already four goals and four assists in the Bundesliga for the defender.
On the way back from the break, despite an onslaught from the visitors, Schalke managed to draw with Bulter on the counterattack.
The party was short-lived, however, as ten minutes later Emre Can set up Guerreiro, who put Dortmund ahead again.
The match, then, was a little more truncated, with fouls, and Schalke tried to seek a new tie, with kicks from Gittens and Brunner.
Until, starting for the 35 minutes of the second half, Bulter crossed into the area and Karaman, with a header, deflected into the goal, tying the derby at Veltins-Arena.
