Lucas Eguibar won the snowboarding boardercross World Cup event played this Saturday March 11 at the Sierra Nevada station (Spain), the first of that competition after the Bakuriani World Cups (Georgia).
The man from San Sebastian, who achieves his fifth World Cup victoryprevailed with great authority ahead of the Italians Omar Visintin and Lorenzo Sommariva, second and third classified respectively.
Sierra Nevada and Lucas Eguibar are two names that go together perfectly. In the 2017 World Cups, the ‘rider’ from San Sebastian had been proclaimed runner-up in the world in the Andalusian natural paradise, just one day before capturing another silver, by teams, together with Regino Hernández from Ceuta-Malagueño.
The win this Saturday puts him squarely in the fight for the Crystal Globethat he be “the objective” again, as he acknowledged to Agencia Efe at the foot of the track, in “a circuit in which” he “always felt very comfortable”.
