O Porto suffered, but managed to defeat Estoril for the 24th round of the Portuguese Championship. This Friday, at Estádio do Dragão, the hosts scored with Marko Grujic, André Franco and Mehdi Taremi and won 3-2. Tiago Gouveia and Francisco Geraldes scored for the visitors.
With the victory, Porto reached 57 points in the competition and approached the leader Benfica, which has five more. By the end of the round, however, the disadvantage could be eight again, as their rivals still face Marítimo this weekend. The next match for the Dragons will be on Tuesday, when they face Inter Milan for the round of 16 second leg match Champions League.
Estoril remained in 15th place, with 22 points. In the next round, the team faces Chaves, next Saturday.

The goals of the game
Porto opened the scoring in the 9th minute of the first half. After a corner kick, Toni Martínez headed it up and deflected it back. Marko Grujic appeared at the back post to finish with a headed goal. Estoril’s tie came at 26, when the ball arrived for Tiago Gouveia. The attacker hit placed at the goalkeeper’s exit and rocked the nets.
Still in the first half, at 31 minutes, Porto took the lead again on the scoreboard. Namaso took a risk from inside the area and the ball exploded on the crossbar. André Franco took advantage of the rebound and pushed into the empty net. In the second stage, Estoril left everything the same again, with a goal by Francisco Geraldes, who converted a penalty kick.
At 28, it was Porto’s turn to have a maximum penalty in their favor. Mehdi Taremi took responsibility and scored the winning goal of the homeowners. In the final stretch, at 51 minutes, Estoril had one player less after Francisco Geraldes was expelled.
