Former football player of the Russian national team Ari denied the desire to become a State Duma deputy
Former striker of the Russian national team Ari denied the desire to become a State Duma deputy. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The athlete said that journalists misinterpreted his words. “I did not say that I want to become a deputy in Russia. I was talking about Brazil, ”the player said and noted that in Russia this would be very difficult to do.
On March 9, the Brazilian, in a conversation with Sport24, spoke about his desire to become a deputy. “There is one area in Brazil where I used to live. Everyone there calls me a deputy, because there is a project in which I participate. He helps all people in need. In the future, I would consider the possibility of becoming a deputy in Russia, in fact. I’ve thought about it twice already,” he shared.
Ari played in the Russian Premier League from 2010 to 2018. The Brazilian defended the colors of Spartak Moscow, Krasnodar and Lokomotiv Moscow. With the latter, he became the champion of Russia and the owner of the Cup of the country.
In July 2018, Ari received Russian citizenship. He also took part in two matches for the Russian national team.
