The Athletic: Morocco may replace Ukraine in 2030 FIFA World Cup bid
Ukraine could be replaced in a joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. It is reported by The Athletic.
As it became known to the source, Ukraine runs the risk of not having time to prepare for the tournament. The uncertainty in the leadership of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) also raises questions due to the dismissal of the head of the organization, Andriy Pavelko, by a court decision.
According to The Athletic, Morocco can replace Ukraine. It is noted that the territorial proximity to Spain and Portugal makes this option preferable.
Previously, Morocco submitted an individual application to host the tournament. In addition, two more groups of countries expressed their desire to host the World Cup: Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece, as well as Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile.
