The former player of the Russian national team advised to pay football players only for the result

Former striker of the Russian national team Dmitry Bulykin spoke about the negative impact of high wages on the game of domestic footballers. His words are available on the Match TV website.

Bulykin noted that due to high salaries, football players relax and lose motivation. In his opinion, the Russians are hindered by the fact that even with a bad game, they will receive decent sums. To change the situation, Bulykin proposed to reform the financing of football players. “We would make a bonus system, the salary is for the result,” he advised.

The ex-footballer added that the introduction of a salary cap will not help improve the situation. “It’s useless, it can be bypassed by different schemes,” Bulykin noted.

After the failure of the Russian national team in the last match of the qualifying round, Croatian ex-footballer Yerko Leko called on the Russians to change the philosophy of the game. He advised the players to play not for money, but for their family and country.

In October, athlete Sergei Shubenkov expressed dissatisfaction with the players’ salaries. The athlete said that he would like to receive as much money as the players of the national team. At the same time, Shubenkov noted that the income level of the players playing in the second most important division of Russia – the Football National League (FNL), is comparable to the earnings of the best domestic athletes and amounts to 300-400 thousand rubles a month.
