Irina Viner spoke about the invitation of Russian gymnasts to club international starts

President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics (VFCG) Irina Viner spoke about the participation of domestic athletes in international tournaments. Her words are quoted by Match TV.

“I was banned from working with federations, we switched to a club system, we have been striving for this for a long time. If gymnasts come to us, then as part of clubs. We will also travel to international competitions to which clubs are invited, ”said the specialist. She noted that Russian athletes have already received many invitations to tournaments not under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).

On March 6, FIG suspended Wiener for two years due to a scandal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where a Russian woman spoke insultingly about refereeing. Due to sanctions, the specialist will not be able to participate in any status in international competitions and events under the auspices of the FIG or receive accreditation for them.

On March 4, 2022, FIG suspended Russian athletes from international tournaments. Athletes were banned from participating in competitions held under the auspices of the organization. Also, judges and officials from Russia are not allowed to work.
