Zyuganov supported the initiative to repeal the law on Fan ID

Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov supported the initiative to abolish the law on Fan ID

Communist Party Chairman Gennady Zyuganov supported the initiative to repeal the law on Fan ID. He wrote a post about it in Telegram.

“We need to stop trying to put an electronic tag on our citizens under various pretexts and repeal the law on Fan ID. It is important to hear and listen to the voice of the people, in this case football fans, who are clearly against such innovations,” he said.

Zyuganov recalled that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was the only party that voted against the introduction of a FAN ID, and now remains the only one that has introduced a bill to abolish it.

On March 8, State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Sergei Obukhov said that he had sent a request to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to cancel Fan ID. He added that the Communist Party will also consider other options for canceling FAN IDs.

The State Duma adopted the law on Fan ID in December 2021. In order to enter the stands at the games of the Russian Premier League, each fan must have a personalized card, which cannot be issued remotely. In response to this, active fans of the RPL clubs, except for the Grozny Akhmat, announced a boycott of league matches.
