Richarlison protests against absence among starters in Tottenham elimination

With Richarlison out of the starting lineup, the Tottenham was eliminated from the Champions League this Wednesday, draw with AC Milan in the round of 16 second leg. The Brazilian, who entered the second half, showed discomfort with the situation and pointed out that he deserved the title.

Richarlison protested his absence from the England team’s starting line-up. For the striker Brazilian Team, there are minutes left on the pitch for him to reach his full potential. The number 9 was direct in his opinion that he “should have played” and evaluated the season negatively.

I came from two games well, mainly against Chelsea, in which I played the 90 minutes and we won the match. I think I should have played”, he added.

Tottenham needed to win by at least one goal in order not to be eliminated in regular time, as they lost the first leg by 1-0. Even so, in the eyes of Richarlison, Antonio Conte, coach of the English, did not put the team forward.

“We left out of the biggest club competition. We can’t play like that needing a goal, I think we had to put the team forward, especially in the second half. The striker recognized that he still did not live up to expectations on the field and recalled the injuries he suffered in recent months. Last year, Richarlison suffered calf and thigh muscle problems and missed 11 games for Tottenham. Still, he again questioned his ownership.

“Now it’s time to focus on the remaining games and score as many goals as possible, because the club paid dearly for me and so far I haven’t responded on the field. he puts me in the starting line-up for the next game,” he said.

Richarlison’s next opportunity to start is on Saturday when Tottenham take on Nottingham Forest for English Championship.
