On the eve of the duel against Sevilla for the Europa League, Fenerbahçe coach Jorge Jesus spoke at a press conference about the round of 16 first leg clash. According to the former coach of Flamengo, the Spaniards are still the favorites for the match.
“Our objective in this competition is to go as far as possible. We are not the favorites in this tournament”, said the Portuguese. Jesus also analyzed that his team has less baggage in the continental competition.

“From this stage, the rivals are at the level of the Champions League. Sevilla have more experience than Fenerbahçe, although we have opportunities”, said the coach. The Spanish club is the biggest champion of the tournament, with six cups raised.
Despite Sevilla’s favoritism, the team’s situation in the Spanish Championship is not good. Jorge Sampaoli’s men are in 17th place, on the edge of the relegation zone. In the last three matches, there were three defeats, including a 6-1 thrashing against Atlético Madrid.
Jorge Jesus’ club is in a better phase than the Andalusian team. Fenerbahçe is in second place in the Turkish Championship and comes from a seven-match unbeaten run. The Istanbul team seeks to maintain good form in the game against Seville this Thursday, at 5 pm (Brasília time).
