Earlier, Mash in his Telegram channel reported that Kostomarov was developing sepsis on his arms and legs. It was noted that doctors cannot stop the infection, so there is a threat of several more amputations. However, later a Sport24 source denied this information.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. The figure skater underwent several limb amputations. According to the Telegram channels “112” and Mash, Kostomarov’s left foot was amputated, as well as several fingers on both hands.
