Deputy Obukhov sent a request to the government to cancel Fan ID for domestic championships
State Duma Deputy from the Communist Party Sergei Obukhov sent a request to the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin to cancel Fan ID. He announced this in his Telegram channel.
“I have already sent a deputy’s request to Prime Minister Mishustin demanding to consider the possibility of exempting domestic championship matches from Fan ID and adopting a relevant government decree,” the deputy wrote.
Obukhov added that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation will also consider other options for canceling FAN IDs.
Earlier, Russian football players and coaches, including Igor Akinfeev, Yuri Zhirkov and Valery Karpin, opposed the use of Fan ID at matches. They noted that they understand fans who do not want to draw up this document.
The State Duma adopted the law on Fan ID in December 2021. In order to enter the stands at the games of the Russian Premier League, each fan must have a personalized card, which cannot be issued remotely. In response to this, active fans of the RPL clubs, except for the Grozny Akhmat, announced a boycott of league matches.
