Seeking recovery in the qualifiers, Bolivia and Uruguay face off in La Paz

The fight for a place in the 2022 World Cup is funneling into the South American Qualifiers. This Tuesday, Bolivia and Uruguay duel at 5 pm (GMT), in La Paz.

The hosts are trying to win again in the qualifiers to continue with a chance of qualifying. Bolivia is with 12 points, in penultimate position.

The Bolivians’ confidence is at the altitude of La Paz. In addition, the hosts are counting on goals from striker Marcelo Moreno, top scorer in the qualifiers with eight goals.

On the other hand, Uruguay left the classification zone after defeats by Brazil and Argentina. To make matters worse, visitors still rely on the embezzlement of Arrascaeta and Cavani.

Even so, coach Óscar Tabárez said that Uruguay is looking for victory.

“We intend to add points and win. We are aware of the difficulties in playing in Bolivia, but we are going to face them and try to overcome them,” he said.

Uruguay is with 16 points, in sixth place. A victory keeps Celeste in contention for a place in the next World Cup.

Venezuela x Peru

Also on Tuesday, Venezuela tries to end the streak of defeats against Peru. The departure will be at 18:00 (GMT), in Caracas.

The owners of the house are on the lantern, with only seven points. On the other hand, the Peruvians, aged 14, are looking for a victory to continue in the fight for a place in Qatar.
