Mash: Roman Kostomarov faces several more amputations due to progressive sepsis

Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov is suffering from sepsis on his arms and legs. This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash.

According to the publication, doctors cannot stop the infection, so there is a threat of several more amputations. It is clarified that the athlete still did not fully regain consciousness. He hardly responds to requests to blink or open his mouth, there is no full contact with him.

On February 26, it became known that Kostomarov had a microstroke, after which he was put into a drug-induced sleep for 72 hours. A few days before, it was reported that a quarter of the brain was affected by the athlete due to hemorrhage and hematoma in the frontal lobe. However, later the doctors said that there was no severe cerebral edema.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. The figure skater underwent several limb amputations. According to the Telegram channels “112” and Mash, Kostomarov’s left foot was amputated, as well as several fingers on both hands.
