Brazilian Renan explained the transition to Zenit with a desire to try his hand at European football
Brazilian rookie Zenit Robert Renan told why he decided to continue his career in the Russian Premier League (RPL). It is reported by “Championship”.
“I think this is a great opportunity to start and try your hand at European football. Zenit is a very big club and there are enough Brazilians here, which will speed up my adaptation,” Renan explained. He added that he knew about the removal of Russian teams from European competition.
On March 3, Brazil’s acting head coach Ramon Menezes announced the list of 23 players called up for the friendly match against Morocco. Renan got into the team for the first time.
The Brazilian moved to Zenit in the winter transfer window, before that he played for Corinthians. The defender made his debut in the blue-white-blue on March 4 in the RPL match against Nizhny Novgorod (3: 0).
