Deputy Svishchev: the reasons for the absence of fans at football matches need to be sorted out
It is necessary to understand the reasons for the absence of fans at football matches, said Dmitry Svishchev, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, commenting on criticism of the Fan ID system. In an interview with Lenta.ru, the deputy expressed his opinion about the system.
On March 5, it became known that State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov plans to send an appeal to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to cancel the Fan ID system until the gaps in its work are eliminated. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The Fan ID bill was a government initiative. This bill has been passed, so everyone must comply with it.

“Now we see that there are critically few fans at the stadiums – this is a fact. And the reasons for the lack of fans at the stadiums need to be sorted out. Here, first of all, the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Digital Transformation should react,” Svishchev said.
The deputy said that he plans to prepare a request to the ministries today in order to get an answer about the reasons for such a low attendance at football matches.
“It can be winter, Fan ID, the general mood in connection with the NWO, the economic situation in the country, it can be any other reasons or all of them. I want to get an answer from them, because they keep statistics, or at least they should keep them – the Ministry of Digital Development for sure. And after that we will draw conclusions,” the parliamentarian explained.
Svishchev also noted that in other regions where the Fan ID system worked in test mode, the situation was not as depressing as in Moscow.
“Indeed, when 4.5 thousand people came to the match between Spartak and Ural on March 4, neither the club, nor the stadium, nor the players themselves can suit it. Because playing in front of empty stands is not very pleasant. Therefore, having received an answer to our requests, we will formulate our position, ”concluded the interlocutor of Lenta.ru.

Earlier, the football player of Spartak and the Russian national team, Georgy Jikia, spoke about his attitude to the introduction of Fan ID at the matches of the Russian Premier League. The player acknowledged that the entry into force of the law will have a negative impact on the attendance of the games.
The State Duma adopted the law on Fan ID in December 2021. To enter the stands for RPL matches, each fan must have a personalized spectator card, which cannot be issued remotely. In response, active fans of RPL clubs, except for Akhmat, announced a boycott of league matches. In addition, the introduction of Fan ID was criticized by the players themselves.
