Medvedev surpassed Rublev in the ATP rankings and regained the status of the first racket of Russia
Tennis player Daniil Medvedev has risen from seventh to sixth place in the updated rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Information is available on the organization’s website.
The 27-year-old athlete overtook compatriot Andrei Rublev, who lost one position. Thus, Medvedev regained the status of the first racket of Russia. In addition, the Russian climbed from fourth to third place in the ATP championship race.
On March 4, Medvedev won his third ATP title in a row. He won the competition in Dubai, beating Rublev in two sets (6:2, 6:2) in the final. Earlier in 2023, the Russian has already managed to win the tournament in Rotterdam, and also became the best in the competition in Doha.
In 2022, Medvedev topped the ATP rating for 16 weeks with a break. He is the record holder among Russian tennis players for this indicator.
