Olympique Marseille beats Rennes in the French Championship

After the defeat against Paris Saint Germain no French Championshipo Marseille Olympics won again this Sunday. The team visited Rennes at Roazhon Park and emerged victorious by 1-0, with a goal scored by Bosnian Sead Kolasinac in the second half.

The visitors followed in second place in Ligue 1, with 55 points. The result served to keep the distance of the leader Paris Saint-Germain, who had increased with the victory of the Parisians last Saturday, but returned to eight points. In the next round, the team faces Strasbourg, on Sunday, at 4:45 pm (Brasília time).

Rennes also did not lose positions and remain in fifth place with 46 points. Their advantage over sixth-placed Lille, however, has dropped to just one point. The team’s next match for the French Championship will be on Saturday, at 1pm, against Auxerre, away from home.

The only goal of the match came in the 12th minute of the second half. In a rehearsed move at the edge of the area, the ball was touched to the bottom line and crossed on the second post. Full-back Sead Kolasinac arrived before the defenders and pushed towards the goal.
