With an Argentine gem goal, Southampton beats Leicester and leaves the Premier League bottom

This Saturday, Southampton beat Leicester 1-0 at St Mary’s Stadium, for the 26th round of the English Championship. Argentine Carlos Alcaraz scored the winning goal that took the team from the bottom of the table.

Southampton had the chance to open the scoring in the 30th minute of the game, when the referee scored a penalty in favor of the home team. Walcott shot down the right, crossed and the ball touched the hand of full-back Castagne. Ward Prowse took the penalty and Ward saved the penalty.

Then, Adams played for Alcaraz to start from the middle of the field towards the opposing area. The Argentine was fast, came face to face with the goalkeeper and sent it into the corner to score the winning goal.

On the way back from the break, Leicester had a golden chance to tie the duel. Praet crossed into the area and found Ihenacho free, who headed the outside of the post and squandered the clear opportunity.

With the result, Southampton reaches 21 points and rises to 19th place, but is still in the relegation zone of Premier League. Leicester, on the other hand, drops to 15th place with 24 points, three more than Everton, which opens the Z-4.
