Narcologist Daniil Petrov called the first signs that may indicate the presence of alcoholism. So, in an interview with Moslenta, he said that at the first stage, alcoholism is usually regarded not as a disease, but as slovenliness and characterological features of a person, but this is wrong.
“A person at this stage is still socially adapted, he does not hangover, his alcoholism does not interfere with work. At the same time, there is already an addiction, ”the doctor explained.
The first signs of alcohol addiction include impatience in anticipation of the opportunity to drink after a working day and small memory lapses. Often they are insignificant, but over time they will only intensify. In addition, the addicted person gradually increases the usual doses of alcohol. At this stage, he begins to look for any excuse not to go to work, take sick leave and time off.
“A person cannot give up their habitual daily use for at least two weeks. There is a feeling of anxiety and mild aggression during the day, until the person consumes alcohol. After a dose, a person relaxes and feels much better, ”the doctor explained.
