The Ukrainian club “Karpaty” changed its technical sponsor due to cooperation with “Zenith”
The Ukrainian football club “Karpaty” has changed its technical sponsor Joma. This was reported on the official website of the team.
“The reason for this decision was the lack of a clear position of Joma to stop working on the Russian market,” the club said in a statement. Now the team will collaborate with the Nike brand. It is noted that the choice of a new partner was due to the decision of the company’s management to completely withdraw from Russia.
Earlier on March 4, it became known that the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) demanded an explanation from Joma representatives because of the appearance of the brand logo on the Zenit equipment. The UAF wants to know if the company’s central office is involved in the presentation and design of the new uniform of the St. Petersburg team.
On January 28, the UAF accused Russian clubs of circumventing the bans imposed by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The Ukrainian side was outraged by the friendly matches against foreign teams that clubs from Russia hold at the training camp in Turkey.
