Nice draw with Auxerre and reach nine unbeaten games in France

This Friday, Nice received Auxerre in the opening of the 26th round of the French Championship, at Allianz Riviera, in Nice (FRA), and drew 1-1. Gauthier Hein opened the scoring for the visitors, but Gaetan Laborde left everything the same. The match was marked by tributes to former player Just Fontaine, who died on Wednesday at the age of 89.

Thus, the hosts reach nine unbeaten games – six wins and three draws – but lose the chance to get closer to the national leaders. With that, they remain in seventh place, with 42 points gained.

Likewise, Auxerre also lives an undefeated sequence – there are five matches in total, two wins and three draws. However, the club wasted the opportunity to move further away from the relegation zone. At the moment, it is in 16th position, with 22 points. That way, you can enter Z4 at the end of the round.

On the next day, therefore, Nice will visit Nantes, at 11 am (Brasília time) on Sunday (12), at the Stade de la Beaujoire. The day before, starting at 1pm, Auxerre will host Rennes at the Stade Abbé Deschamps.

First, however, the Nice team has a commitment to the round of 16 of the Conference League. On Thursday, the team will go to Moldova to face Sheriff, starting at 2:45 pm, at Zimbru Stadium, in Chisinau (MOL).

Nice and Auxerre goals

Despite playing away from home, Auxerre opened the scoring in the first half. In the 36th minute, Gauthier Hein dominated the received pass and sent it to the goal, scoring the first for Allianz Riviera.

Six minutes later, Nice were awarded a penalty after a foul by Akim Zedadka inside the penalty area. Gaetan Laborde went for the kick, but stopped at goalkeeper Ionut Radu, who brushed it aside for a corner.

However, the wasted penalty did not shake the home striker. With that, still in the initial stage, at 46, he took advantage of a cross in the area and headed to tie the match.
