In a press conference this Friday, coach Christophe Galtier confirmed that Neymar will be missing from Paris Saint-Germain for the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League. Champions Leagueagainst Bayern Munchennext Thursday.
“Neymar will not be available for the next two games. He is one of the top scorers and assists in the Ligue 1, it’s a big loss,” declared the PSG coach.
In a Ligue 1 match two weeks ago, Neymar suffered a sprained ankle in his right leg and had to be substituted for the duel against Lille, in which PSG won 4-3, with a goal by the Brazilian in the first half.
After tests, Neymar was diagnosed with a ligament injury in Neymar’s right ankle. The striker was absent in the last match against Olympique de Marseille, for the French Championship, and will miss the next two games, against Nantes and Bayern Munich.
Paris Saint-Germain was defeated at home in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. Bayern won 1-0 and will have the upper hand in the second leg at the Allianz Arena. Without Neymar, coach Galtier must climb the Parisian team with three defenders and the duo Messi and Mbappé in the attack.
