Zindeine Zidane arrives this Thursday June 23 at the age of 50. He celebrates them with his family and with the expectation of what his next step as a coach will be.
While he spends his time enjoying his free moments, he does not rule out one day being France’s coach and always remembers his good times as a player and as a coach. Even he even begins to think about directing Paris Saint Germain (PSG), although not this season, as Diario As also reported.
Zidane was the main protagonist of the first World Cup won by France, the same one he held at his home, during 1998 and in which he won the final by beating powerful Brazil 3-0 led by Ronaldo, Dunga, Taffarel, Cafú, among others.
After his retirement as a player, he managed to prepare himself as technical director until he became champion three times in the Champions League with Real Madrid.
With all these achievements, Zidane will be remembered by his teammates, for being a good player, coach and person, in the middle of the recess process in which he has had the luxury of saying “no” to some clubs that have sought him out.
The AFP agency made a recount of some of the phrases told by people who have been linked to French, during their career.
“In France, everyone realizes that God exists and that he is back in the French team. God has returned,” Thierry Henry told Le Parisien in 2005 after Zinédine Zidane’s announcement that he was returning to Les Bleus to play in the World Cup.
“Training with Zidane for three years has been a dream. For me, he is the best of all time”, said David Beckham, with whom he played at Real Madrid.
“Against Zidane, you only have to do one thing: pray”, stressed Gennaro Gattuso before the 2006 World Cup, won by Italy after defeating France in the final.
“Zidane, it’s Magic and Jordan in a single player,” remarked basketball player Earving “Magic” Johnson in 2002, after having seen a Real Madrid game.
“The first time I saw Zidane was at Juventus. He was a fantastic player. It was the key that made me change my idea of football”, said Carlo Ancelotti, current Real Madrid coach and also champion of the 2022 Champions League, just as Zidane did.

“He understands the players perfectly. He is one of the best coaches, that’s for sure,” Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric told AFP in 2020.
