O Manchester United remains the main candidate to remove midfielder Frenkie De Jong from the Barcelona. However, according to the newspaper Marca, the values offered by the English have not yet reached what the Catalan team wants.
Barcelona’s management reportedly set a minimum price of 75 million euros to sell the Dutchman – the same amount paid to the Ajax in 2019. United, in turn, reached an offer of 65 million euros.
Even knowing that the Spanish team is not willing to reduce the request, the Red Devils are aware of the delicate financial situation experienced by their rival and are pressing for a discount.
Barcelona are in no hurry to complete the deal, as the club is in a relatively comfortable Financial Fair Play situation. On the other hand, the sale of the Dutch midfielder could open up cash for other investments, such as the acquisitions of Brazilian Raphinha and Polish player Lewandowski – speculated on in the team.
