Brother Nurmagomedov spoke about the possibility of a duel with Sterling

Umar Nurmagomedov says he does not consider Aljamain Sterling the strongest fighter in the world

Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Umar Nurmagomedov spoke about the possibility of a duel with American Aljamain Sterling. His words are quoted by Match TV.

“If they tell me in three days that King Kong is coming out, I will say let him be 135 pounds (the upper limit of the bantamweight is approx. “Tapes.ru”) will do, and that’s it. It doesn’t matter at all,” he said. Nurmagomedov noted that he does not consider UFC bantamweight champion Sterling to be the strongest fighter in the world, and called compatriot Islam Makhachev as such.

In total, in his professional career, Nurmagomedov, who is the cousin of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, won 16 victories without suffering a single defeat. He has four fights in the UFC.

Sterling won the championship belt in the spring of 2022, defeating Russian Petr Yan by a split decision. In October, he successfully defended his title in a duel with compatriot TJ Dillashaw.
