Jeffinho scores for the first time, Lyon beats Grenoble and advances to the French Cup semi

At the Parque Olympique Lyonnais stadium, in Décines-Charpieu (FRA), the hosts won by 2-1, with goals from Bradley Bacola and the Brazilian Jeffinho, formerBotafogo. Amine Sbai slowed down for the visitors.

Thus, the team coached by Laurent Blanc advances to the semifinals of the knockout competition. The team is looking for the sixth tournament title in its history – the last time it lifted the trophy was in 2012.

Lyon’s goals against Grenoble

After a good start to the game, with chances for both sides, Lyon opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the first half. After Tagliafico’s cross, striker Bradley Bacola headed to the back of the net and opened the scoring.

Then, at 38, it was Jeffinho’s turn to score. The Brazilian received a throw from Tagliafico, invaded the area and hit low, in the left corner of goalkeeper Esteban Salles, extending the advantage. It was the striker’s first goal in a Lyon shirt. He arrived at the French club earlier this month.
