Choreographer Ilya Averbukh spoke about the condition of the wife of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov Oksana Domnina. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
Averbukh said that he calls Domnina every day. “I hear her voice, she is doing great, a very strong woman. I admire her, her love, every day she goes to the hospital and spends time with Roma, ”he stressed.
On February 26, Sport24 reported that 46-year-old Kostomarov had a minor stroke, after which he was put into a drug-induced sleep for 72 hours.
On February 20, the SHOT Telegram channel reported that a quarter of Kostomarov’s brain was affected due to hemorrhage and hematoma in the frontal lobe. Later, doctors said that there was no severe cerebral edema.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. The figure skater underwent several limb amputations. According to Telegram channels 112 and Mash, Kostomarov’s left foot was amputated, as well as several fingers on both hands.
