Scientists have found that to maintain health, it is enough to exercise 20 minutes a day
Scientists from the US National Cancer Institute have named the optimal duration of training to maintain health. The study is published in the journal JAMA Open Network.
“20 minutes of daily physical activity will help reduce hospitalizations for many common conditions,” study leader Eleanor Watts said in a statement. She noted that the load can be both intense and moderate.
The experts found that exercise was particularly effective in reducing the risk of nine diseases. These include gallbladder disease, urinary tract infections, diabetes (both type 1 and type 2), deep vein thrombosis, pneumonia, stroke, iron deficiency anemia, diverticular disease, and colon polyps.
Previously, Chinese scientists found that training in the daytime has a more favorable effect on the state of the cardiovascular system than in the evening. Experts recommended including at least 150 minutes of intense or moderate exercise in your schedule weekly.
