Averbukh called the condemnation of the SVO an unacceptable condition for the admission of Russians to world tournaments
Choreographer Ilya Averbukh spoke about the possible and unacceptable criteria for the admission of Russian athletes to international tournaments. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
The specialist called unacceptable the hypothetical requirement for athletes to condemn the holding of the CBO in Ukraine. “If a condition is added that the athlete must say something, performances are impossible. It’s not about the person’s position, the very posing of such a question, the very demand is unacceptable, ”said Averbukh.
The choreographer also spoke about the performances of the Russians under a neutral flag. “Out of respect for our athletes, for how much money our country has invested in them, we must perform,” Averbukh added.
At the end of January, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that they were considering the possibility of admitting Russians to the 2024 Games in a neutral status. Competitions in Paris should be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
