Real Betis French midfielder Nabil Fekir will miss the rest of the season after the Andalusian club confirmed on Monday that he had suffered a torn ligament in his left knee.
The French national team player suffered this injury during the game against bottom Elche, last Friday, with a 3-2 victory for the ‘Verdiblancos’.
“Fekir suffered a hyperextension of his left knee in one of the last moments of the match against Elche CF last Friday. The tests that he underwent by the medical services of Real Betis Balompié confirmed that he has an anterior cruciate ligament injury of the knee” , the club said in a statement.

“The player will have to undergo surgery in the coming days to resolve this injury, the prognosis of which means he will miss the rest of the season,” added the club.
Betis currently occupies fifth place in the LaLiga Spanish and fight for qualification for the next Champions League.
In addition, he will play the round of 16 of the Europa League against Manchester United.
Fekir, 29, was one of the highlights of the last good seasons for Betis, the club he joined in 2019 from Lyon and with which he won the last edition of the Copa del Rey.
