The Volga said they were interested in the transfer of Artem Dziuba
The Volga football club spoke about the failure of the transfer of Russian striker Artem Dziuba. The words of the press officer of the Ulyanovsk team, Oleg Savinov, are reported by Sport24.
Savinov confirmed that the club was interested in the striker. “But this story did not go far. We really wanted to make a beautiful story, but the fact is that Dziuba did not come. It’s a little insulting, ”he said and added that he did not know the reason why the player did not come.
In a conversation with Match TV, the team said that the club could afford only one Dzyuba match – the quarterfinal meeting of the finals of the Russian Cup regions path against Zenit. “It would not even be enough for half a season,” Volga noted.
On February 8, Dzyuba signed a contract with Lokomotiv. The agreement with the Moscow club is valid until the end of the 2022/2023 season. The 34-year-old football player will earn 2.5 million rubles a month.
Dzyuba is a four-time champion of Russia in the St. Petersburg “Zenith”. Together with the Russian national team, the striker reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.
