O Barcelona received bad news on Monday morning. Striker Robert Lewandowski suffered a left hamstring injury and should be out for the duel against Real Madrid this Wednesday, for the first leg of the King’s Cup semifinal.

In a statement, Barcelona announced that Lewandowski had a strain detected in the tendon of his left leg. In addition, the club did not announce the Polish recovery time, but confirmed his absence in the next activities.
Lewandowski played every minute of the match against Almería, this Sunday, for the Spanish Championship. Out of the house, the Barcelona lost 1-0 and saw Real Madrid close the gap in second place to seven points.
The rival of the Spanish capital will be Barcelona’s opponent this Wednesday, starting at 5 pm (Brasília time), for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal. Against Real Madrid, at the Santiago Bernabéu, coach Xavi will not be able to count on strikers Ansu Fati and Dembelé, as well as striker Lewandowski and midfielder Pedri, all injured.
To replace the top scorer of the Spanish Championship, Barcelona must go to the field with Raphinha on the right side and Ferran Torres improvised as a center forward. In “El Clasico” of the first round of La Liga, Ferran scored for the Blaugrana team in the 3-1 defeat.
