Chelsea manager Potter speaks out about death threats over results
Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has spoken out about death threats coming to him because of the club’s results. His words are quoted by the Associated Press.
The specialist stated that he received several emails in which an anonymous sender wished death not only for him, but also for his children. “I understand that the fans go home angry because the team is not winning. People got the impression that I didn’t care. But how do you know? he protested.
Since the beginning of 2023, Chelsea have won only one victory – over Crystal Palace in the English Premier League (EPL). During this time, the club suffered five defeats and ended four matches in a draw.
On September 6, the Londoners announced the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel as head coach and the appointment of Potter. The reason for the resignation of the German specialist was not the results of the club, but Tuchel’s categorical refusal to transfer the Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
