Mike Tyson says Anthony Joshua shouldn’t be discouraged after two defeats in a row
Former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson gave advice to Brit Anthony Joshua, who suffered two defeats in a row. His words are quoted by Boxing-Social.
“When you despair, you lose and the doors close behind you. There is no need to be very upset after defeats. You made $30 million, so don’t worry,” Tyson said. He called the Briton a very talented fighter and also recommended that he stay active and keep working.
On the night of August 21, 2022, Joshua lost to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk by split decision. Prior to that, the Briton lost to Usyk by unanimous decision on September 25, 2021. In these fights, the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super world heavyweight titles were at stake.
Joshua, 33, is a former WBO, IBF, IBO and World Boxing Association heavyweight champion. In total, in his professional career, he won 24 victories and suffered three defeats.
