The head of the Czech Ice Hockey Federation Gadamchik criticized the hockey player SKA Yashkin for the military uniform

The President of the Czech Ice Hockey Federation Alois Gadamchik criticized the St. Petersburg SKA striker Dmitry Yashkin for playing in a military uniform at the match of the regular season of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) against Sochi. His words are quoted by Sport.cz.

“We disagree on the issue of morality with the guys who signed contracts in Russia. Such a person cannot represent our country,” Gadamchik said. He drew attention to the fact that Yashkin also has Russian citizenship and made his choice. According to the head of the federation, he himself is responsible for his actions.

On August 25, the Czech Ice Hockey Federation announced that it would not call up players from Russian clubs to the national team. Yashkin called the decision unpleasant.

Yashkin was born in Russia, but then moved to the Czech Republic with his family and received Czech citizenship. He played in the National Hockey League for clubs such as the Washington Capitals and the Arizona Coyotes. Since the summer of 2022, the forward has been representing SKA.
