“Izvestia”: doctors declared their unwillingness to bring Roman Kostomarov out of a coma due to edema
Doctors said they were not ready to bring Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov out of a coma. This is reported by Izvestia.
“The edema has moved to the head, so far they are afraid to remove it from drug sleep. So far, everything is in edema, and it’s too early to talk about something, ”said the source of the publication. It is noted that ophthalmologists regularly examine the 46-year-old athlete.
On February 20, the SHOT Telegram channel reported that a quarter of Kostomarov’s brain was affected due to hemorrhage and hematoma in the frontal lobe. Later, doctors said that there was no severe cerebral edema. Tomography revealed only a small focus of clogged blood vessels in the head. However, according to REN TV, on the night of February 21, the athlete had another stroke.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. The figure skater underwent several limb amputations. According to Telegram channels 112 and Mash, Kostomarov’s left foot was amputated, as well as several fingers on both hands.
